Narrative

Born at his parents residence, Elphin. 9 Beatrice Street, Lidcombe. Attended Christian Brothers College, Burwood N.S.W. for his secondary school education. He started work as an Apprenticed Fitter and Turner at Clyde Engineering and after four years and ten months, he completed his term on 11th June 1919. On 1st July 1919, Ken commenced work as a fitter in the Shipyard Fitting Shop at the Department of Navy, Commonwealth Naval Dockyard, Cockatoo Island, Sydney. He received a reference to this fact from the General Manager dated 24th October 1919. On 28th April 1922, his 24th birthday, he entered a Monastery conducted by the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (M.S.C.). He took his Final Vows at 8:30 Mass on 26th. February 1930. He spent his life as a Religious Lay Brother in the Order at various locations such as Kensington, N.S.W., Douglas Park, N.S.W., Hamilton, Victoria, and Dowlands College, Toowoomba, Queensland.
