Narrative

Lived in Frederickton Station, P.E.I., Canada.
"Francis Webster Cutcliffe was born in South Melville, Prince Edward Island. In 1897, moved with his parents to Fredericton in 1900.
He was a friendly lad, making many friends, all of whom called him "Frank".
After finishing school in Fredericton, he went to work in a shell factory at Amherst, Nova Scotia, during World War I. When his father decided to retire, Frank took over operation of the Cutclife & Cutcliffe General Store in Fredericton until 1934, where he established and managed a produce business for the rest of his life.
Frank was very interested in farming, and owned and operated several, including a potato farm, as a sideline to this produce firm. Aside from these business ventures, Frank took active interest in livestock breeding and also was a skilled carpenter. He was a religious man, serving as an elder and deacon of the Pleasant Valley United Presbyterian Church, and he devoted much of his time to civic and community affairs. His friends and neighbors knew him as a man quick to lend a helping hand (or credit) to those who needed assistance.
Frank loved family gatherings, planning huge picnics to which Cutcliffes from far and near were invited to share his hospitality. Frank married Winifred McDowell, also an active chruch worker, who today (1970) is Librarian for Charlottetown, P.E.I. From this marriage, they had four sons, who all became college graduates. In 1967, at the age of seventy, Frank seffered a fatal brain tumor. Over a thousand persons attended the funeral at Pleasant Valley United Presbyterian Church; nearly two hundred vehicles were in the funeral cortege bearing him to rest in Floral Hill Gardens Cemetery at Fredericton, PEI, Canada.
