Narrative

"South Melville, Prince Edward Island, was the birthplace of Allie, son a John Alexander Cutcliffe.
Allie completed his schooling just at the outbreak of World War I. He worked at Robb's Engineering Company, Amherst, Nova Scotia as a government inspector of shells and ammunition. When he left this work in 1919, he settled in Hunter River, buying a general store, and continued to operate it until 1938. During this period, he acquired a funeral home business in 1930.
In 1938, Allei moved to Charlottetown and operated the Cutcliffe Funeral Home until he retired in 1969. He married Joan Sinclair, and they had one son and one daughter.
Allie's chief interest was hourses and horse racing. He owned several pacers, among them the renowned "Margaret Jean", the Maritime Provinces Champion 1945.
A Mason, Allie is a member of Prince fo Wales Lodge, and his favorite winter sports are curling and skating."
