Large plague over burial spot in wall of Trinity Church, Woman's Chapel, Ilfracombe. Administrator of his father's estate. Named in his brother's will, d. 25, bur 26 October 1637 at Ilfracombe. On Charles Cutcliffe includes 3 messuages, gardens, orchards, 60 acres of land, 10 of meadow, 60 of pasture, 4 of wood, and 40 of down etc. called Come Manceaux; also Heiffers and Mynchan Bradford in Witheridge.

" Charles Cutcliffe, of Ilfracombe, the eldest son, bapt. 1577, succeeded to the family estates which, in 1629 (2nd. Feb., 5 Ch. I) he (in contemplation of a marriage between himself and Grace, daughter of John Chichester of Hall, then deceased, by Anne his wife (daughter of Sir Arthur Basset of Heanton Court, Knt) who in the deed is described as of Westcote, widow enfeoffed the estates in trust to Francis Isaac, of Combemartin, and Henry Goodwyn, of Great Torrington Gentleman to secure said Grace's jointure. The married life of Charles and Grace Cutcliffe was short, lasting only eight years. He died 1637, aged 60, and his wife in the following month at age 33. They were buried in the same grave at Ilfracombe, and an elaborate inscription was placed on their monument."
