Will dated May 2, 1566, pro. 1572 at Barnstaple, Collated Wills, Exeter.
Wrote concerning 15th century deeds in Cruwys Morchard (nextdoor parish to Witheridge, England). In 1479 there is a "Richard Cutteclyff of Northcote and also a Thomas Cutteclyff. A deed in 1496 involves a Richard Cutclyff (spellings vary) and John Grynowe, whose name resembles that of the Gernoune family whom Thomas married into. Also in 1496 a John Grynowe gave a bond of 40 pounds to Richard Cutclyff the elder as surety for the observance by John Grynowe of the award of Thomas Cutclyffe and Thomas Gramite, arbitrationr, concerning the right to all messuages and lands in Crusemorchard which formerly belonged to Richard Cutclyf. In 1497 Thomas Cutclyf and John Grynow were appointed atorneys involved in a lease. In 1498 three attorneys were involved in a deed between Richard Cutclyf the elder and Thomas Cutclyffe the elder. One of the attorneys was Thomas Cutclyffe of Wytherygge. Presumably the younger.
