"William Drummond Cutcliffe was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1937, where he attended St. Louis Park High School, and then went on to attend the University of Minnesota, where he graduated, majoring in Social Psychology. He also holds a University of Washington Hotel Management Seminar Certificate. His past and present social, fraternal, civic and professional memberships number an even dozen. In his capacity as a hotel operations and management specialist, Bill has traveled extensively, studing hotel managemetn throughout the U.S. and in 17 foreign countries, and has lectured at the University of Hawaii Undergraduate Hotel College. Bill is known for his meticulous manner and dress, and likes to spend money on clothes - - at one time, his wardrobe included 20 suits, each with appropriate matching accessories. By nature, he is inclined to be a "plumger", purchasing a $50,000 apartment home in Honolulu and closing the deal with very little cash. This quality of aggressiveness extends into his work, and is coupled with a creative imagination put to proctical uses. Perhaps one of William's most cherished honors is an award issued to him by the Vice-President of the United States, citing him for his civic work in Minneapolis.Ó
