Most of the information about the Cutcliffe family in England had been copied from "Account of the Family of Cutcliffe of Damage" by William Richard Drake, F.S.A., 1876: " The Reverend William Cutcliffe was educated at Oxford, and subsequently was of Colyton, Devon. Under his father's will he succeeded to the Manor of Stodden, and estates in the parishes of Holsworthy and Thornbury, co. Devon, and also to the Manor, &c, of Withypool, co. Somerset. He married, 14th Feb., 1750, Federata daughter of the Reverend William Brand of King's Brompton, co. Somerset, by his wife, who was one of the daughters of the Rev. William Rowe, Vicar of Otterton. Mr. William Cutcliffe's will is dated 13th March, 1755 and proved in P.C. Cant, by his widow, 12 August 1755. Mrs. Federata Cutcliffe's will is dated 14th Jan, 1793, and administration was granted to the P.C Cant to Federata her daughter, and next of kin on 15th April 1795. She was buried at Uffculme, co. Devon, 7th February 1793. The issue of the marriage of William Cutcliffe and Federata Brand were two children."
