Plaque on outside wall of Church in Combe Martin: "Master of Schooner "Meridian" of Brixham, England. Drowned when Ship was wrecked on sable Island (Coast of Halifax). Church of England, Church yard in Combe Martin there is a plaque that reads: " Jane sister to William 14 June 1832 age 25 years. William C of ye late Schooner Meridian of Brixham who was drown when she was wrecked on Sable Island (Coast of Halifax) on 30th of August, 1831, He was 27 years of age and son of Nicholas (Marines) and Alice Citcliffe. Nicholas Cutcliffe faher died August 22, 1842 age 78, Also Alice, August 20, 1853 age 90."
