Narrative
Took the additional surname of "Cutcliffe" by Royal licence 18 May 1867. Named in the wills of his father and great aunt Harriet Elizabeth Cutcliffe.

" Charles Henry Drake, of the Manor House, Lee, parish Ilfracombe, who by Royal Licence, granted in May 1857, took the additional surname of Cutcliffe, was born 4th June and baptized at Ashford 7th July 1840. he, with the consent of his grandmother, carred teh estate tail created by the settlement of 1822, and re-settled the estates on his marriage in 1868 (Oct. 6th at Braunton) with Henrietta Maria daughter of the Rev. John Whittington Ready Landon, Vicar of Braunton. Mr. C.H. Drake-Cutcliffe died 9th February 1875, aged 34 years, and was buried at Ilfracombe, leaving his wife and infant son surviving."
